"Party With A Purpose"

My wife and I attended Thankful Thursday "Party with a Purpose" last night. I attended to support friends of ours.

They were fundraising for The Friday Food Bags Foundation. As their website states "The Friday Food Bag Foundation works with educators and social workers from both LCSD #1 and LCSD #2 to deliver bags of nutritious, non-perishable food each Friday while school is in session to children who otherwise might not eat well, or at all, during the weekends." What a great cause! Our daughter worked in the school system for many years and saw this first hand.

It was wonderful to see our First Lady, Jenny Gordon, at the event. It was attended by many business owners as well as Sheriff Glick and his wife Pam. It is also great seeing how many friends and family were there.

They raised $26,000 for this very worthy foundation. Our community is one of the best communities around. This party was wild, loud, fun, and high energy.

The Rib and Chop House provided dinner for only $10 a plate and they then donated all proceeds to the foundation.

What a wonderful evening.
